Adventures in Bath Time

What is it about water that is so intriguing to little children? It seems water is always wanted outside and whenever possible the sprinkler is running under the trampoline or the hose is in the sand box. Fun and intriguing right?  Somehow, for a few minutes at least, that same intrigue is far away when it comes time to take a bath.  I am not sure why that is because not five minutes into a bath, faces are all full of smiles and giggles can be heard. (This is true with the exception of having hair washed within the first minutes of entering the tub. From the time of hair washing completion though, smiles and giggles.)

Toys - that might be what helps with the smiles and giggles, and perhaps some bubbles too. But even with the myriad of toys for the bath tub, something new is always wanted. Isn't that how it always is, never satisfied with what you have and always want something more.  That's another topic in itself! :)

Now for our two main characters:

Brittney - somewhat shy and reserved

Carissa - well you know what they say, a picture says a thousand words ;) LOL

The other night while the two were having fun in the tub and their mother and I were enjoying a bite to eat without the constant - can you get me ....? - sit down and eat! - I don't like ..... etc.  :) we suddenly noticed the joyful laughter had turned to crying.  It seems that, as I said before, the amount of toys was simply not enough.  Carissa had begun to play with a bar of soap.  Anyone remember what happens when a bar of soap gets wet?? (I know most of us have liquid soap, so do we but the occasional bar of soap is brought out) Well, in the course of play, the soap did get wet and it evidently shot out of Carissa's hands and flew right into Brittney's mouth! (anyone remember the Lifebuoy scene from A Christmas Story? LOL Fortunately there was no "soap poisoning")
