No School Day 11

No school day 11
Field trip from day 9-10 wore us out. Most of the time learning today was spent cleaning up, and putting stuff away.
Teacher/student work day- as a family we walked all over our property with a clipboard in hand and wrote down EVERYTHING that needed to be done. From picking up sticks in the front yard so it could be mowed to brush eradication on the pond bank and power washing the deck. 3 pages of outdoor projects! PLENTY to keep us busy for a good long time! Then it started to rain, again.
Veterinary science- My palomino horse Autumn had to stay home from the field trip as she was lame on hind leg the morning we were leaving. It was more swollen when we got home so off to the vet we went. Diagnosis: The tiny cut on her leg starting an infection in her tendon, UGH! Hopefully she with heal up antibiotics and rest. Won't be riding her for awhile. Thankfully Lori has some extra horses we can borrow as my favorite one seems to be accident prone.
Botany - Brittney found more 4 leaf clovers, then her dog Journey ate them! Perhaps she will be lucky now too. Maybe Brittney keeps finding 4 leaf clovers because they are missing going to 4H meetings?
English & math- Carissa got a set of online English and math assignments from her teachers at school. She started on that, going to take her awhile. She made the comment "it's like the teachers think we don't have anything to do at home" lol NOT at this home!
US Government-Watched the documentary UnBranded about a group of friends who take wild mustangs, train them in 90 days then ride them from Mexico to Canada. We were all tired after riding horses for only 2 days, they rode for 6 months! It was very interesting and opened up a lot of conversation about the US Government, BLM, management of public land, wild horses and use, or miss-use of tax payer funds. Going to have to do another unit on this topic.
